PowerDsine Demonstrating Power over Ethernet in Security Devices at IIPSEC 2005
Business Wire, Jan 6, 2005
PowerDsine(TM) Ltd. (NASDAQ:PDSN)
WHAT: PowerDsine, a pioneer in Power over Ethernet (PoE)
solutions, will be exhibiting at IIPSEC 2005 at Stoneleigh
Park in Coventry, UK from January 25-27, 2005. Available at
Stand M08, PowerDsine will be demonstrating of a range of
network security cameras which have already been certified as
PoE compliant by PowerDsine, including Axis, Sony, Canon and
Toshiba.
PowerDsine's Power over Ethernet products include both
silicon-based PoE applications and standalone midspans. The
standalone PoE midspans offer PoE functionality without
requiring a complete infrastructure switch upgrade. The
company supplies its PoE technology via OEM partners as well
as through distributors, systems integrators and VARs.
Since the IEEE ratified the PoE standard in June 2003, the
adoption of PoE as a standard feature in most new enterprise
infrastructure switches has been accelerated. Current key
high-growth markets where PoE has been adopted include IP
video cameras, voice over IP phones, and wireless LAN access
points as well as other networked security devices.
As a founding member of the IEEE 802.3af task force,
PowerDsine has been a driving force behind the PoE standard,
as well as the enhancement of the IEEE PoE 802.3af standard,
dubbed "PoEplus", delivering higher power levels to devices
that require more than the 13 Watts currently specified in the
802.3af standard.
WHEN: IIPSEC 2005
