Petrofund Energy Trust Clarifies Ex-Distribution Date for AMEX

CALGARY, Alberta -- Petrofund Energy Trust (TSX:PTF.UN) (AMEX:PTF) announced that due to the closing of the AMEX on Martin Luther King day in the United States on January 17, 2005, the ex-distribution date for Petrofund's January 2005 distribution will be January 12, 2005 for transactions on the AMEX. The ex-distribution date for TSX traded units remains unchanged at January 13, 2005, and the record date to receive Petrofund's January 2005 distribution remains the same for both exchanges at January 17, 2005.

Petrofund Energy Trust is a Calgary based royalty trust that acquires and manages producing oil and gas properties in Western Canada. The Trust makes monthly cash distributions to unitholders, which are derived from the Trust's cash flow from these properties. Petrofund Energy Trust was founded in 1988 and was one of the first oil and gas royalty trusts in Canada.
