See GlowPoint in Action at CES in Sony Booth; Advanced IP-Video Services Featured on Sony PCS-TL50 Desktop Communication System at Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas
Business Wire, Jan 7, 2005
LAS VEGAS -- Glowpoint, Inc., (NASDAQ: GLOW) the world's leading broadcast-quality IP-based video communications service provider is showcasing its full suite of innovative video communication services at the 2005 Consumer Electronics Show, January 6-9, 2005 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
GlowPoint is being featured on the recently introduced PCS -TL50, Sony's first desktop video conferencing solution for executive personal communications. Demonstrations of GlowPoint's advanced features will include; "000" Live Video Operator Service, which instantly connects callers to a live video operator for directory assistance and customer service information; Bridging-on-Demand Conferencing, for easy and spontaneous multi-participant video conference calls; and Direct Dial Video Numbers, which simplify video calling by replacing confusing IP addresses with standard 10-digit telephone numbers.
Additionally, visitors will be able to see GlowPoint's recently introduced Video Call Assistant and Video Call Mailbox services. The GlowPoint Video Call Assistant service features "Lisa," a friendly face in full motion video that replaces standard call rejection error messages. The GlowPoint Video Call Mailbox is a first-of-its-kind video answering machine similar to familiar voice-mailbox services. Users can use a standard video message or can record their own personalized outgoing full motion video messages and receive incoming video call messages when they are away from their video conferencing unit. The system then instantly notifies the user via e-mail that a new video message has arrived.
"As video communications expands from the conference room to the desktop, customers will demand services that make their face-to-face communications as easy and spontaneous as making a telephone call," said David Trachtenberg, CEO, GlowPoint. "Demonstrating the GlowPoint solution on Sony's new executive desktop video product shows how easily video communications can seamlessly integrate into customers' everyday lives."
The Sony booth is located at #N-109 of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
