CipherTrust Positioned in the Leaders Quadrant for E-Mail Security Boundary 1H05; Evaluation Based on Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute
Business Wire, July 1, 2005
ATLANTA -- CipherTrust, Inc., the leader in messaging security, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the leaders quadrant in the "E-mail Security Boundary Magic quadrant 1H05"(1) report. This report focuses on anti-spam, e-mail antivirus (AV), and intrusion prevention capabilities to prevent inbound e-mail security threats. According to Gartner, "leaders" are vendors who are performing well today, have a clear vision of market direction, and are actively building competencies to sustain their leadership position in the market.
"We are very pleased to be positioned in Gartner's leaders quadrant, and we recognize that a positioning like this is based largely on the feedback from customers," said Jay Chaudhry, founder, chairman and CEO of CipherTrust. "Our strong enterprise installed base, including more than 35 percent of the Fortune 100, has been built by addressing customer needs, starting with the secure e-mail gateway and adding capabilities like anti-spam, value added AV, connection management and outbound filtering as the market evolves."
"Being positioned in the leaders quadrant as Gartner has evolved the market to this year's more comprehensive e-mail security boundary, we believe demonstrates our success in helping our customers and the market at large stay ahead of e-mail threats," said Dr. Paul Judge, CipherTrust CTO. "Over the next year, as the market evolves from a predominately inbound focus to require integrated outbound filtering and compliance solutions, we feel CipherTrust is perfectly positioned to maintain its market position."
In the report, Gartner mentions that "increasing business requirements for outbound filtering are influencing buying decisions for e-mail security. Companies may want to consolidate the number of vendors of products they use for e-mail security," as indications of this move toward a combined inbound/outbound secure e-mail gateway.
CipherTrust's continued focus on outbound filtering and delivering critical features such as pre-populated dictionaries and compliance focused reports, enables IronMail to provide both inbound and outbound protection.
"For the last five years, CipherTrust has met the needs of large enterprises around the world by investing in our own world-class research and development organization, so we can consistently innovate and are not dependent on third party technology to deliver solutions to customers," added Dr. Judge. "Our introduction of key technologies like TrustedSource, Connection Control, Privacy Architecture, Compliance Control, and our genetically tuned Threat Response Updates are the fruits of that investment. We believe CipherTrust's position in the Magic Quadrant confirms our technology and thought leadership in the e-mail security space."
