Everdream Corporation Names Former Sybase and Commerce One CEO, Mark B. Hoffman, as New President and CEO; Industry Pioneer Assumes Leadership of PC Management Services Company
Business Wire, July 12, 2005
FREMONT, Calif. -- Everdream Corporation, the leading provider of hosted PC Management services (PCM), today announced that former Sybase and Commerce One CEO, Mark B. Hoffman, has been named President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Mr. Hoffman also assumes the role of Chairman of the Board.
Speaking on behalf of the Board of Directors, member John Balen said, "We are delighted to welcome Mark as Everdream's new President and CEO. Everdream's Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model is being embraced by companies of all sizes at an increasingly rapid rate. As CEO of Commerce One, and before that as CEO of Sybase, Mark has a proven record of building strong customer value and developing a global brand that will help guide Everdream through its next phase of growth."
"I am very enthusiastic about this opportunity," said Mr. Hoffman. "Everdream is a great company with all the ingredients for continued success -- world-class people, outstanding partners, unique technology and a strong customer base. Everdream's recurring revenue model was especially appealing to me as it not only provides the company with a strong financial foundation, but also commits us to sharing responsibility for our customers' success. I intend to focus relentlessly on execution and further develop our strategy to leverage our position as the leader in PC Management services in order to deliver extraordinary value to our customers."
A pioneer in business-to-business e-commerce, Hoffman served as Chairman, President and CEO of Commerce One, one of the first companies to design infrastructure software that connected complex commercial processes into one centralized marketplace, from 1996 until 2004. The company is widely considered to have established the software standards for electronic commerce. In 1984, Hoffman co-founded Sybase, Inc. where he was the Chairman, President and CEO until 1995. Under Hoffman's leadership, Sybase became the second largest relational database management systems vendor and the sixth largest independent software company in the world. Hoffman holds a B.S. from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and an M.B.A. from the University of Arizona.
