Business Wire, July 12, 2005
TORRANCE, Calif. -- Keenan, the largest privately held brokerage firm in California, today announced that Chief Strategy Officer Henry R. Loubet has been invited to join The California Association of Physician Groups' (CAPG) newly created employer advisory council, comprising a blue ribbon roster of California employers, physicians groups, brokers, and consultants.
Don Crane, President and CEO of CAPG, says, "CAPG is particularly pleased to have Henry Loubet join its Employer Advisory Council. Mr. Loubet has a breadth and depth of experience in California healthcare issues that make him a highly valued healthcare leader. He will be an asset to the Council and we look forward to his contributions."
Says Loubet, "The collective energy, innovative spirit, and passion for addressing some of California's most unique healthcare challenges will provide the foundation, and no doubt drive our council's value added contributions. I earnestly look forward to providing my insights, backed by the time-honored experience of Keenan to create workable and sustainable solutions."
The CAPG Employer Council mission is to provide a forum for healthcare purchasers and physicians to come together to discuss California's most significant healthcare issues, including the rising cost of care, maintaining high quality of care, and the pros and cons of the latest product trends, such as HSAs and Consumer Directed Healthcare. The Council held its first meeting June 22, 2005.
CAPG's Employer Advisory Council comprises key representatives from many of California's major healthcare purchasers including Verizon, Southern California Edison, Wells Fargo, CalPERs and the Pacific Business Group on Health (PBGH); as well as major healthcare providers including Monarch, Brown & Toland, Bristol Park, HealthCare Partners, Hill Physicians and Physician Associates. The Council also includes representatives from respected healthcare consultants including Watson Wyatt, Mercer, Towers Perrin, Keenan, Barney & Barney, and Word & Brown. Representatives from other organizations, such as the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), round out the Council membership. Health plans are not represented.
