Business Objects Names Sheri Anderson Group Vice President and Chief Information Officer; Respected Industry Veteran to Lead Worldwide IT Organization Through Company's Next Phase of Growth

SAN JOSE, Calif. & PARIS -- Business Objects (Nasdaq:BOBJ) (Euronext Paris ISIN code: FR0004026250 - BOB), the world's leading provider of business intelligence (BI) solutions, today announced that it has named Sheri Anderson to the position of group vice president and chief information officer. In this role, Anderson will lead the worldwide IT organization at Business Objects, including the strategic design and deployment of the company's enterprise applications, internal client support, technology infrastructure, and IT governance. Anderson will report to Jim Tolonen, chief financial officer at Business Objects, and serve as a member of the company's executive committee.
Sheri Anderson brings a strong track record of IT leadership and accomplishment to Business Objects, with more than 20 years of experience in both the technology and financial services sectors. Most recently, Anderson served as the CIO for Xilinx (Nasdaq:XLNX), the worldwide leader of programmable logic solutions. At Xilinx, Anderson's accomplishments included the successful worldwide implementation of Oracle 11i for Corporate Services and the completion of a 5 year systems architecture vision and roadmap.
Prior to joining Xilinx in 2001, Anderson held several senior-level positions at Novell (Nasdaq:NOVL), a leading provider of infrastructure software and services. Anderson served as Novell's CIO for 5 years before becoming the general manager of Novell Customer Services, where she was responsible for the company's technical support, education, and consulting businesses.
Anderson's prior experience also includes 10 years with Charles Schwab & Company in a number of senior IT roles focusing on operations, telecommunications, and client server development. Anderson holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Stanford University.
