Lawson Announces Ongoing Momentum and Leadership in Healthcare Human Resources; Healthcare Organizations License Lawson Human Resources Suite to Improve Efficiency and Effectively Manage Employee Resources
Business Wire, July 13, 2005
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Lawson Software (Nasdaq:LWSN) today announced that Gwinnett Health System, Geisinger Health System, St. Luke's Episcopal-Presbyterian Hospital and Children's Memorial Hospital each signed contracts for Lawson's Human Resources software in Lawson's fourth quarter of fiscal 2005, which ended May 31, 2005.
Lawson Human Resources helps healthcare organizations streamline and automate routine administrative tasks, freeing HR personnel to pursue high value work such as strategic initiatives for recruiting and retaining the best employees.
For instance, Gwinnett Health System chose Lawson Human Resources to allow its employees to manage and understand their own benefits. With Lawson's Employee and Manager Self-Service software, Gwinnett expects its managers and HR staff will have more time to spend with employees and be able to focus on employee retention and satisfaction. Employees will be able to conduct routine business electronically, giving them more time to focus on patient care.
"Our current human resources vendor recently discontinued its HR and payroll application, so we were faced with finding a new product that included advanced functionality. After reviewing multiple vendors in an extensive end-user selection process, we decided that Lawson's Human Resources Suite provided the best functions and features compared to its competitors," said Ed Brown, vice president and chief information officer of Gwinnett Health System. "With Lawson, we expect to have a more efficient HR department and the ability to make better and faster business decisions."
Gwinnett Health System is a state-of-the-art inpatient, outpatient and emergency/trauma care facility in Gwinnett County, Ga. The system has two acute care hospitals and a psychiatric hospital. It also includes women, rehab, extended care, neuroscience, orthopedic, day surgery, radiology and clinic services. Gwinnett has more than 4,000 employees and 479 beds.
"Lawson Human Resources streamlines and automates routine HR tasks, helping transform the HR staff into a more effective, strategic department," said Stacey Hicks, industry marketing director, Healthcare, Lawson Software. "Lawson is a proven leader in serving healthcare organizations and helps them face the workforce shortage by optimizing a key resource - their employees."
Lawson serves more than 500 healthcare industry clients representing more than 4,500 facilities, including eight of the top 10 integrated delivery networks. The company also serves managed care systems, academic medical centers, hospitals, clinics, physician group practices, home healthcare, long-term care and other health services enterprises. Lawson solutions help healthcare organizations manage their business so they can focus on their patients, automate and streamline materials management for a better bottom line, and overcome the challenges of labor shortages.
