Revivio's Mich Fisher Appointed Co-Chair of Storage Networking Industry Association's Data Management Forum - Data Protection Initiative
Business Wire, July 14, 2005
LEXINGTON, Mass. -- Revivio(R), Inc., a leader in enterprise continuous data protection (CDP), today announced Mich Fisher has been appointed a co-chair of the Storage Networking Industry Association's (SNIA) Data Management Forum (DMF) - Data Protection Initiative (DPI). Together with Jason Iehl of Quantum, he will be responsible for leading the DPI in its chartered mission to define, implement, qualify and teach improved methodologies for the protection, retention and management of electronic information and applications.
"Data protection has long been a top priority for IT organizations. Today, customers have a plethora of technologies and vendors from which to choose. However, with this overabundance of options comes the inevitable challenges - how to separate marketing hype from reality, how to choose the right technology solution for your specific business objectives and how to implement the best solution possible while protecting your current technology investment and leaving flexibility for future purchases - to name just a few," said Fisher. "I am honored to have been provided with this opportunity to contribute to such an important organization. Bottom line, if you make data protection, retention and management easier to understand and implement, everybody will use it. After all, the alternative can be quite a bit more costly."
"We are delighted to have someone with Mich's experience and dedication to SNIA join us in such a critical position," said Sheila Childs, chair of SNIA's Data Management Forum. "With Mich helping to lead the way, I am confident we will meet our goal to build the knowledge base and training capabilities necessary to become the worldwide recognized authority on data protection, retention and management; and thusly to help all of SNIA's constituents, including the vendors, regulatory agencies, channel partners and of course, the end users, to better understand and implement effective data protection solutions."
