Motive Expands Presence in Latin America with Cable & Wireless Agreement; Leading International Telecom Company Selects Motive for Broadband and Digital Home Management in Latin America
Business Wire, July 14, 2005
MIAMI -- Motive, Inc. (NASDAQ:MOTV) today announced that Cable & Wireless has selected Motive software to deliver and support digital home and broadband services for customers in Latin America and the Caribbean. As part of the agreement, Cable & Wireless, a leading international telecommunications company with customers in 80 countries, will use Motive management software to manage its broadband home networking services and high-speed data offerings. The move will help ensure a superior user experience for Cable & Wireless subscribers through simple self-install and self-repair capabilities.
The Latin American broadband services market is experiencing tremendous growth. eMarketer estimates the Latin American broadband subscriber market will increase from 3.4 million in 2004 to almost 10 million in 2008. Motive is working with Cable & Wireless to support the delivery of broadband and digital home services to this expanding customer base by providing automated service setup, support and management processes for customers in Jamaica, Antigua, Dominica, Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, and the Grenadines.
"Latin America and the Caribbean represent significant growth potential for Cable & Wireless digital home and DSL services. But with that growth comes the need to scale customer service processes," said Magnus Johansson, vice president, Broadband Services at Cable & Wireless, Jamaica. "Motive's management software is used by some of the largest broadband providers in the world to help streamline the management of service delivery and support. We're confident that building Motive technology into our home networking and high-speed data services will transform the customer experience by making the services easier to use and maintain."
Motive's built-in management capabilities simplify the use of digital home services by offering Cable & Wireless home networking and broadband subscribers fast, intuitive service and support that help resolve issues with the click of a button. Motive software will also help Cable & Wireless customer service agents to remotely access subscriber service data to more quickly diagnose and resolve customer support issues.
"Motive has identified Latin America as a strategic international target for our digital home management software," said Kenny Van Zant, Motive's executive vice president of marketing. "We're excited to be expanding our reach in this region with a prominent and well-respected telecoms company like Cable & Wireless."
