Spectorsky named senior vice president for Gannett Broadcasting

MCLEAN, Va. -- Brooke Spectorsky, the president and general manager of WKYC-TV in Cleveland, Ohio, has been named a senior vice president for Gannett Broadcasting, it was announced today by Roger Ogden, president and CEO of Gannett Broadcasting.

Spectorsky will remain as president and general manager of WKYC and will assume divisional responsibility for Gannett stations KARE-TV, NBC Minneapolis; WGRZ-TV, NBC Buffalo, NY; WCSH-TV NBC Portland, ME; and WLBZ-TV NBC Bangor, ME.

Spectorsky has served as president and general manager at WKYC-TV, Gannett's NBC affiliate, since October of 1997.

Prior to joining Gannett (NYSE:GCI), Spectorsky was president and general manager of WCPX-TV, the CBS affiliate in Orlando, FL, from 1994 to 1997. Previous to WCPX-TV, Spectorsky was the vice president and general manager of WUAB-TV in Cleveland, the station where he had started his career as a cameraman.

He also served as station manager for KTVU-TV in San Francisco and WSB-TV in Atlanta. He completed a stint in Los Angeles as director of programming for KTLA-TV from 1979 to 1981.

He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Downtown Cleveland Partnership, and serves as a trustee of both the Cleveland Council of World Affairs and the Cleveland Zoological Society. He is a member of the Professional Advisory Board for the Kent State University School of Journalism and the Advisory Committee for John Carroll University's Department of Communications. He is also a Board Member of the Cleveland Chapter of the American Red Cross.

Spectorsky and his wife, Micki, have two children, Kate and Alex. He is a graduate of Kent State University.
