Netli Offers Industry's First Cross-Carrier Service-Level Agreement for Performance of Enterprise-Class Applications Across the WAN; NetLightning SLA Guarantees LAN-Like Performance for Global End Users

PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Netli(R), the global leader in Application Delivery Network (ADN) services, today announced the industry's first service-level agreement (SLA) for the delivery of applications and content across its network. The SLA applies to enterprises using NetLightning(R), the company's managed service that accelerates application delivery over the Internet and addresses the unique machine-to-machine communication needs of Web services. The SLA guarantees that an enterprise's end users will experience at a minimum a 2X speed-up in their ability to complete a transaction or download content.
Netli's breakthrough service guarantee -- the first cross-carrier, client-to-application performance SLA, is possible because of Netli's unique managed services and network architecture, which establishes a presence at the customer premises and cross-carrier, in cloud based nodes that are close to end users. This gives Netli bi-directional control and visibility over all traffic that traverses the Netli platform. This ensures that enterprises will enjoy a higher level of confidence in the reliability of their applications, along with the improved return on investment and lower total cost of ownership associated with applications that maintain optimal performance.
Historically, service providers have only guaranteed the performance of one packet's round trip across their network, but enterprises have wanted an application-level guarantee for all users across all networks. Netli now meets this requirement. Typical content delivery network (CDN) service providers do not offer this type of guarantee for enterprise-class applications because they have no presence on the customer premise and primarily serve static images. Furthermore, appliance solutions with no presence in the network cloud also cannot offer this type of guarantee for enterprise-class applications.
The SLA is monitored by Netli's performance measurement system, which tests the network with comparative transactions -- with and without Netli's acceleration -- every 15 minutes, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
