Double-Take Exchange Failover Toolkit from NSI Software Saves Administrators Time and Money; Wizard Deploys Double-Take In Seconds and Provides More Failover Options
Business Wire, July 19, 2005
HOBOKEN, N.J. -- NSI Software, Inc. (NSI(R)), developer of Double-Take(R), the most relied upon solution for continuous data protection and application availability, today introduced the latest edition of the Double-Take Exchange Failover Toolkit, including the Exchange Protection Wizard (XPW) that adds even more deployment and failover flexibility to Double-Take.
For system administrators, Exchange is among the most critical applications to protect, and yet one of the most difficult applications to manage. Double-Take Exchange Failover Toolkit now provides them with a fast, simple, intelligent method for implementing continuous protection of Exchange data. The XPW tool provides a simple four-click setup for protecting Exchange servers, taking advantage of nearly 10 years of NSI experience in protecting Exchange. In addition to the XPW, the standard Double-Take management console looks and feels like the familiar Windows Explorer interface; it also offers enterprise and hierarchical views of the Exchange environment. An added "pre-flight check" tests and validates the configuration to eliminate any implementation conflicts before they occur. With the new Double-Take setup, administrators complete an accurate, comprehensive implementation in minutes and with assurance in the configuration.
"Popular for being flexible, reliable and affordable, Double-Take is the most widely-adopted continuous data protection solution in Windows environments. Worldwide, there are currently more than 14,000 licenses of Double-Take protecting just Exchange," said Jason Buffington, director of business continuity at NSI Software. "Double-Take Exchange Failover Toolkit is the latest of our companion offerings that builds on NSI Software's commitment to meet customer needs for continuous, reliable, affordable data protection."
Also included in the toolkit are new EFO (Exchange Failover Utility) and DFO (DNS Failover Utility) features, which provide a broad range of identity-based and DNS-based failover approaches to meet the wide array of solutions that NSI customers demand. These features enable customers to fully automate failover, reducing the need for manual intervention during implementation or during a server emergency.
"Setting up any technology to work with Exchange can be a challenge. I expressed this concern when speaking with the NSI sales team about my plans to deploy Exchange protection. Now, I feel like they listened to my needs directly. The Double-Take Exchange Failover Toolkit's intuitive interface and drop down menus, combined with the updated failover options, will greatly improve ease of use during implementation and will help me continue to manage our most critical environment in the most effective way possible. In just four simple clicks, our Exchange environment will be protected," said Doug Koenig, Sr. Technical Analyst, Lyondell Chemical Company.
The Double-Take Exchange Failover Toolkit will be generally available on August 15, 2005.
