Right Prescription for Bank One Customers in Arizona; 220 Walgreens ATMs Expand Free Network to 607 in State; Will Be Rebranded to Chase by Year End

PHOENIX -- Bank One, Arizona's largest financial institution, announced today that it will put a Bank One ATM in every available Walgreens drug store in the state. The 220 ATMs will increase the free network for Bank customers by 75 percent to 607 in Arizona, and will give Bank One customers the most free ATM locations in the state.
Bank One will begin installing the machines next month and plans to reach 220 stores by year-end. At that point, they will be converted to the Chase brand along with the 200 branches in Arizona.

"Our customers will enjoy the most convenient networks in both Phoenix and Tucson."
Currently Bank One has 387 ATMs, including 86 in high-traffic areas like Bank One Ballpark, Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport and QuikTrip convenience stores. At that point, Bank One will have the most ATMs in the two largest metro areas as follows:
--Phoenix, 331 ATMs
--Tucson, 86 ATMs
In the last year, Bank One has added 18 new branches in Arizona, and plans an additional 30 in the next two years. More personal bankers and upgraded online banking capabilities complement the expanded branch and ATM network.
"We are pleased to provide another convenience to our customers by hosting over 35% of the Bank One ATMs in Arizona," said Rick Hans, Walgreens director of finance. In Chicago, Bank One has a similar relationship with Walgreens, with ATMs in more than 385 stores.
Late this year, Bank One branches and ATMs will be renamed Chase, the result of a 2004 merger with JPMorgan Chase & Co. Walgreen Co. is the nation's largest drugstore chain with fiscal 2004 sales of $37.5 billion.
