DeVry University to Open Oklahoma City Center in November; University will offer career-oriented undergraduate and graduate degree programs in business, technology and management
Business Wire, July 25, 2005
OKLAHOMA CITY -- DeVry University, one of North America's leading career-focused universities for business, technology and management fields, announced it will expand its national network of 78 locations by opening its first Oklahoma location at 4013 NW Expressway, Suite 100, in Oklahoma City. Classes will begin in November 2005.
"Oklahoma City, with its diverse business community and strong economy, is an ideal location for DeVry University," said John Skubiak, president of DeVry University. "Opening a center in Oklahoma City benefits residents by providing them with greater access to flexible and convenient educational degree programs that can help them launch or advance their careers."
DeVry University plans to offer undergraduate degree programs in business administration, technical management and computer information systems, as well as seven graduate degree programs, including a master of business administration, through its Keller Graduate School of Management.
To help adult learners fit higher education into their busy lives, DeVry University will offer classes in the evenings and on the weekends, with daytime courses added in the spring 2006 semester. DeVry students can also mix-and-match onsite courses with online courses.
DeVry University focuses on helping students achieve their educational and career goals. Because of DeVry's year-round academic calendar, full-time students can complete a four-year bachelor's degree program in three years, or a master's degree program in two years. DeVry's degree programs also feature a real-world approach in which the knowledge and skills students learn in the classroom can be applied immediately in the workplace.
Because DeVry's curricula is developed with input from industry leaders, employers value a DeVry education and students have success in finding jobs after graduation. In fact, over the past 10 years, 91 percent of DeVry undergraduates who actively pursued employment or were already employed when they graduated held positions in their chosen fields within six months.
"Because DeVry University is a student-focused institution that is attuned to employers' needs, we believe DeVry can help develop the highly-skilled workforce the Oklahoma City area needs to meet the demands of tomorrow's economy," said Skubiak.
