Avnet Enterprise Solutions Recognized by Cisco Systems as 3200 Mobile Access Router Advanced Technology Provider

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Avnet Enterprise Solutions, a division of Avnet Inc. (NYSE: AVT), announced today it has achieved the 3200 Mobile Access Router Advanced Technology Provider (ATP) status from Cisco Systems(R). This ATP designation is by invitation only and recognizes Avnet Enterprise Solutions for its ability to provide the core knowledge and skills required to successfully deploy the Cisco(R) 3200 Series Mobile Access Router solutions. This program enables Cisco Channel partners to provide full lifecycle support for the Cisco 3200 Series Mobile Access Router products, including sales, planning, design, implementation, configuration and end-user support.

"The 3200 Mobile Access Router ATP status enables Avnet to successfully deploy one of the core Cisco technologies into new vertical markets such as defense, public safety, homeland security, and commercial transportation."

The following two types of partners can qualify for the ATP-3200 (Mobile Access Router) program.

--ATP-3200/Hardware Design Integrator (HDI) -- This Cisco Partner company has expertise in electronic R&D including PC board-level design, power supply design, mechanical enclosure design, environmental testing, manufacturing, etc. The partner designs to a set of custom product requirements/specifications and embeds the Cisco 3200 Series solution into an overall product.

--ATP-3200/Network Solutions Integrator (NSI) -- This Cisco Partner company is responsible for overall deployment and installation of the network solution. The company serves as prime contractor, and acquires custom solutions from HDI, or implements third-party elements authorized by Cisco.

Resource Requirements

As a Network Systems Integrator, Avnet Enterprise Solutions was required to fulfill the following job roles with qualified individuals who have met specific testing requirements:

--an account manager and two system engineers with CCNA(R) certification from Cisco.

Customer Satisfaction Requirement

In addition to the personnel requirements, Avnet Enterprise Solutions has agreed to meet the requirements regarding documenting customer satisfaction. This includes undertaking a random customer survey to obtain a customer satisfaction rating. In order to maintain its ATP status, Avnet Enterprise Solutions must obtain a 4.0 average rating out of a possible 5.0 for every five surveys completed.

Lab Requirement

The 3200 Mobile Access ATP also requires Avnet Enterprise Solutions to maintain a lab that contains current, upgraded, and maintained Cisco 3200 Series Mobile Access Router products. The lab must also be suitable for the following purposes: application development, fault replication, proof-of-concept demonstrations, internal training for ATP Partner's staff, network emulation, and hot-staging of products.
