Absoft Announces Reseller Agreement with Intel Corporation - Absoft now Distributing Intel® Software Development Tools for Linux, Windows
Business Wire, July 26, 2005
ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. -- Absoft Corporation announced today that it has entered into a Reseller Agreement with Intel Corporation through which Absoft will distribute Intel's compilers, libraries, and other software development tools for Linux and Windows through its worldwide channel of Absoft resellers. Under the agreement, Absoft will offer the Intel software development tools together with Absoft's products, and also separately as standalone products.
For Windows and Linux, the Intel(R) Fortran Compiler, Intel(R) C Compiler, Intel(R) Math Kernel Library, Intel(R) Performance Analyzer, and for Linux, the Intel(R) Cluster Toolkit, Intel(R) Cluster Math Kernel Library, Intel(R) MPI Library, and Intel(R) Trace Analyzer and Trace Collector are immediately available directly from Absoft and its authorized resellers. More details on the products offered, including pricing and ordering information, can be found at: http://absoft.com/Products/intel-products.html
"With their long experience in the Fortran and scientific computing markets, Absoft represents a significant new channel for Intel software development products," said Bill Savage, general manager of Intel's Software Products Division. "The opportunity for Intel software products to be distributed and supported by Absoft both alone and together with other Absoft products is a win-win for both companies and our mutual customers in the computing community."
In June, Absoft released into general availability a special software development bundle, the High Performance Computing Software Development Kit (HPC SDK) containing products from both Absoft and Intel. The Absoft HPC SDK is a complete solution allowing software developers to easily compile, run, debug, and optimize high performance software applications. The HPC SDK includes some of the industry's leading software tools optimized for 64-bit extensions and is preconfigured for easy installation. It includes Fortran and C/C compilers from both Intel and Absoft, debuggers, math libraries, pre-built message passing (MPI) libraries, and other development tools. Also included are a comprehensive set of example HPC programs to help new users quickly learn how to take full advantage of the HPC SDK features. The HPC SDK from Absoft is the only commercially available HPC SDK that combines tools from multiple vendors to provide customers with a true best-of-class solution. With just three easy mouse clicks, customers can install and begin using the HPC SDK to take advantage of their existing hardware and software investments. Absoft Corporation is the single point of contact, simplifying all pre-sale, post-sale and technical support issues related to the HPC SDK. "Our relationships with Intel and other leading technology companies continue to expand in a variety of directions," said Absoft CEO Wood Lotz. "Our ability to integrate Absoft tools with those from various vendors and create preconfigured solutions builds on the strengths of both parties. This growing relationship with Intel is another step forward in the growth and expansion plans set in place for Absoft early in 2004. Through this agreement with Intel, Absoft Corporation remains uniquely poised to offer customers the widest variety of solution choices available for Fortran users today."
