Virginia's Information Technologies Agency Lauds Astyra's Partnering Model

RICHMOND, Va. -- The success of Astyra Corporation's consultative model of partnership was drawn out during the keynote address at the National Minority Technology Council's Public Sector Roundtable, held on July 15 at Richmond's historic Jefferson Hotel. During her keynote address, Leslie Carter, Acting Chief Information Officer for Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA), spoke about the history and mandate of her organization and her direct experience working with minority companies, saying in part, "We have worked with Astyra since the beginnings of VITA as an agency. They are a true partner, almost family to us."

Since 2003, Astyra has served as outsourcer for VITA's Richmond mainframe data processing personnel. In recent months, the Commonwealth has expanded its' relationship with Astyra, leveraging the VITA contract to benefit multiple state agencies including VDOT.
