Business Wire, July 28, 2005

CHICAGO -- Discover why Bill Martin and Matt Ragas, editors of the FindProfit newsletter, like the Western Gas Resources (NYSE:WGR) story. Click here for the full story exclusively on Zacks.com: http://at.zacks.com/?id=84

Highlights from the July 26th Featured Expert column by Bill Martin and Matt Ragas include:

Shares of Western Gas Resources (NYSE:WGR) are holding their ground fairly well in the face of a valuation downgrade call from an investment boutique.

In terms of how Martin and Ragas are playing WGR, there`s certainly nothing wrong with locking in some partial profits, and the stock has certainly run fast and hard lately and could be due for some consolidation over the short term. However, Martin and Ragas still like the WGR story and believe additional gains are likely ahead over the medium term.

In WGR Martin and Ragas see a competent and motivated management team (insiders own approximately 20%), attractive long-life reserves, a motivated activist holder in Loeb, and a potential transaction to unlock the value of WGR`s midstream assets. The typical commodity and execution risks remain, but overall, Martin and Ragas are comfortable keeping a full portfolio weighting in WGR at this time.
