Department of Energy Announces the Selection of Energy Enterprise Solutions for $1 Billion A-76 Competitive Bid
Business Wire, July 28, 2005
GAITHERSBURG, Md. -- Energy Enterprise Solutions, LLC (EES, http://www.eesllc.net) announced today it has been selected to provide mission-critical information technology support to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). The announcement was made to Mr. William Teel, Jr., Chairman of the Board for EES. The impending contract, the result of an A-76 competitive sourcing study, is a consolidation of several existing and related IT contracts. It will be one of the largest federal information technology services contracts ever awarded to small business.
EES, a small business joint venture, was formed as part of an SBA-certified Mentor-Protege agreement between majority-owner 1 Source Consulting, Inc. (http://www.1-sc.com) and RS Information Systems (http://www.rsis.com). In conjunction with the DOE federal IT workforce, this single integrated federal/contractor solution, also known as "Team DOE," will be committed to providing consolidated IT services, simple access, effective management, strengthened security, and improved performance by delivering services on time and with exemplary quality throughout DOE, its federal stakeholder communities, and the American public.
EES will support a wide range of information technology areas including enterprise architecture, cyber-security, telecommunications, network infrastructure, systems design and engineering, help desk support, software applications, and Web design.
Mr. Teel, Chairman of the Board for EES and CEO of 1 Source Consulting, Inc. called the award "a defining moment for Team DOE, 1 Source, and the small business community. I am honored to have been able to work with some of the brightest and most dedicated professionals in the Federal IT community in winning this historic small business contract. I am proud of this accomplishment and am confident we will work to the best of our abilities to help ensure total customer satisfaction and the highest quality IT service delivery. The announcement of this award is a testament to the entire EES Executive Management Team, its' staff, and the many other individuals who contributed to this effort."
"Our Mentor-Protege relationship with RSIS has proven to be invaluable. The support and guidance from RSIS throughout this entire process has helped us grow and achieve levels of excellence that would have taken years to achieve otherwise," said Teel.
Rodney P. Hunt, President and CEO of RS Information Systems, Inc. stated, "RSIS is delighted to continue to play an important role in meeting the information technology needs of the Department of Energy. DOE is an important and valued customer to RSIS. We're confident that the SBA-approved Mentor-Protege relationship between RSIS and 1 Source will prove a valuable asset toward advancing DOE's critical mission."
Team DOE maximized small business prime contractor credits for DOE by creating a team composed of DOEs' federal IT workforce and EES; the Most Efficient Organization (MEO) under federal A-76 guidelines. EES will lead an integrated team of experienced DOE contractors including ASRC Aerospace Corporation (http://www.asrc.com), CNSI (http://www.cns-inc.com), and DSD Laboratories (http://dsdlabs.com). EES also has direct access to the resources of large business partners that include Booz Allen Hamilton, CSC, IBM, NCI, Raytheon, and SAIC.
