NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 and 4400 by PNY Technologies Now Available with Genlock and Framelock Option Board
Business Wire, July 29, 2005
PARSIPPANY, N.J. -- PNY Technologies(R), Inc. today announced availability of the NVIDIA Quadro(R) FX 4500 by PNY and NVIDIA Quadro(R) FX 4400 by PNY with the NVIDIA Quadro G-Sync option board, which offers framelock and genlock functionality for PCI Express-based workstation systems. These new advanced visualization solutions build on the success of the groundbreaking NVIDIA Quadro FX 3000G by PNY for AGP 8X, which continues to be available. These solutions combine the power of an ultra high-end NVIDIA Quadro PCI-E graphics board with a dedicated G-Sync daughter board that implements the additional framelock, genlock, and house sync functionality.
Framelock and genlock allow the video output from multiple NVIDIA Quadro by PNY graphic boards to be synchronized for large model computing solutions. This simplifies the configuration and installation of high performance workstation visualization clusters. The option board also synchronizes graphic display output, via house sync, with other input streams and recording devices for video effects, editing and compositing applications and workflows.
According to Ed Caracappa, Director of Sales for BOXX Technologies, "We work closely with our hardware and software partners to offer a wide range of configuration options that optimize workflow. Prior to the availability of NVIDIA Quadro by PNY solutions with G-Sync option board, the challenge of providing multiple views of the same large dataset has only been addressed by expensive and proprietary system clusters." He added, "Designed from the ground-up, BOXX workstations equipped with NVIDIA Quadro by PNY graphics boards provide dependability and reliability for users to design, animate, model, composite and edit."
Framelock allows the display channels from multiple workstations to be synchronized, thus creating one large "virtual display" that can be driven by a multi-system cluster for performance scalability. Genlock allows the graphics output to synchronize to an external source typically for film and broadcast video applications. Other applications that benefit from using the NVIDIA Quadro by PNY with the G-Sync option board include: room-sized, rear-projection powerwalls used for collaborative industrial design or decision support centers; multi-channel vehicle simulators used for pilot training or mission rehearsal; large asset stations used by geophysicists for geoseismic interpretation of large data sets; video editing, on-air broadcast graphics, and digital content creation.
"The NVIDIA Quadro by PNY with the option board unleashes capabilities that have traditionally only been available on costly, vendor-specific hardware platforms," said Jeff Medeiros, business development manager for PNY Technologies. "This solution matches ultra high-end PCI-E graphics performance with framelock and genlock providing an advanced workstation graphics board combination to meet a variety of professional applications."
The NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 and 4400 by PNY with the G-Sync board which provide the functionality required for advanced multi-system visualization environments and multi-device film and video production workflows. The G-Sync daughter board can fit into any available expansion slot within six inches of the graphics card and draws power, as well as passes signals back and forth with the card over a flexible ribbon cable. These dedicated visualization features on the G-Sync daughter board increases system configuration options and provides a "future proof" upgrade strategy.
The NVIDIA Quadro FX 4400G and FX4500G by PNY are available now to distributors, system integrators and value-added resellers throughout North America.
