Business Wire, July 5, 2005
NORCROSS, Ga. -- Unisource Worldwide, Inc., one of the leading distributors of paper, packaging and facility supplies in North America, has named Gordon Glover senior vice president and chief financial officer. Glover will report to Allan Dragone, CEO of Unisource.
Glover has led the financial operations of Corporate Express, including its strategic supply management, since April 2000. Previously, he was director of mergers, acquisitions and divestments for Buhrmann, NV, leading Buhrmann's $2.6 billion acquisition of Corporate Express. Earlier in his career, he worked 13 years for Bunzl and five years for KPMG.
"Gordon's extensive background in the distribution business will help lead Unisource through the next phase of our development as the profit leader in the distribution business," said Dragone. "Most significantly, his corporate turnaround experience at Buhrmann's and Corporate Express will be critical to the development of Unisource's strategic plan for the next several years." He will spend the next several weeks visiting a number of Unisource operations and sales offices to become familiar with the company.
Glover received degrees from Glasgow University and Strathclyde University in Scotland. He is a Chartered Accountant by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.
Matt Tyser, currently senior vice president and chief financial officer of Unisource, has chosen to leave the company. Tyser will remain with Unisource through an extended period to ensure a smooth transition within the company.
Dragone praised Tyser's contributions to the company. "During his six years here, Matt twice led Unisource through its sale and acquisition. We owe a great debt of gratitude to Matt for his leadership and wish him well in his future business and personal endeavors," said Dragone.
