Comtech Telecommunications Corp. Awarded $1.0 Million Contract by a Global Satellite Communications Integrator

MELVILLE, N.Y. -- Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (NASDAQ: CMTL) announced today that its Tempe, Arizona-based subsidiary, Comtech EF Data Corp., was awarded a $1.0 million contract by a U.S. based global satellite communications integrator for its flagship CDM-600 Satellite Modems and high performance Frequency Converters and Transceivers. The products will support the expansion of an international satellite communications infrastructure.
The satellite communications equipment chosen by the customer can help reduce operating expenses with its industry-leading technologies. The CDM-600 is an advanced satellite modem that supports data rates up to 20 Mbps, an array of modulation techniques, standards and interfaces, and advanced forward error correction technologies to ensure optimum performance based on varying network conditions. By opting for the Turbo Product Coding, which enables increased coding gain and lower decoding delay, the customer can realize significant bandwidth savings. Also included in this award are the UT-4505 C-Band Up Converters, the DT-4503 C-Band Down Converters and the CSAT-5060 50 Watt C-Band Transceivers. The Frequency Converters feature the patented Daisy Chain protection switching architecture.
