Xcelsius Adds Interactive Visualization to Microsoft SharePoint™ Portal; Brings Point-and-Click Data Visualization of Web Parts to Popular Collaborative Portal Offering
Business Wire, July 8, 2005
MINNEAPOLIS -- Infommersion, the industry leader in data visualization software, today introduced Xcelsius for SharePoint at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference. The new software enables companies to provide their SharePoint end-users with interactive charts, graphs and dashboards that have never before been possible using the SharePoint Portal Server.
With Xcelsius for SharePoint, individual business professionals can select the information they want to visualize, customize the appearance of the resulting charts and perform visual "what-if" analyses on the underlying assumptions. This allows users to understand the projected business impact of changes in the data -- all in real-time, directly on their screen.
Xcelsius for SharePoint enables IT professionals to represent new and existing information as graphical Web parts, and provides for "Web part to Web part" connectivity. This connectivity gives end-users the ability to select and graphically represent data from various Web parts, with the click of a mouse. These can also be easily customized to better represent the information selected to view.
"Business managers are increasingly demanding the visualization of complex enterprise data, because it gives them more insight into the numbers," said Santiago Becerra, CEO and co-founder of Infommersion. "Working closely with Microsoft VARs allows us to demonstrate how Xcelsius for SharePoint will enable them to meet, and exceed, their customers' needs."
Xcelsius for SharePoint is scheduled for release in September 2005. Pricing and licensing information have not yet been announced.
Infommersion will be demonstrating Xcelsius for SharePoint, as well as Xcelsius XRS for creating business dashboards from SQL Server Reporting Services reports, at Booth #736 at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference, July 8-10 in Minneapolis, MN.
