Uniden and 3Com Work Together to Provide Enterprise-Class Cordless Internet Telephony Phones; 3Com NBX IP Telephony System and Uniden Phones to Offer Industry's First Cordless IP Offerings for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses

FORT WORTH, Texas & MARLBOROUGH, Mass. -- Uniden America Corporation, a leading manufacturer of wireless consumer electronics, and 3Com Corporation (NASDAQ: COMS), a leader in providing secure, converged networking solutions, today announced an agreement to deliver the first Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) cordless multi-line phones for enterprises. Available today, the 3Com(R) 3106C cordless phone and 3Com 3107C cordless phone can seamlessly be used with the 3Com(R) NBX(R) IP telephony system to deliver complete and cost-effective IP offerings to business owners.
Featuring Uniden's cordless technology and 3Com IP telephony technology, these multi-line IP phones offer an extended range of up to 1,000 feet or 305 meters from the base unit. The joint development assures tight integration with the 3Com NBX IP telephony system, providing mobile access to hundreds of system features. The 3Com NBX IP telephony system has always been designed to offer a cost-effective solution with advanced features for small and medium-sized enterprises. Leveraging Uniden's wireless expertise, customers are now assured that their business communications will move with them.
