SunGard Availability Services Announces Information Availability for Small and Midsize Business Program; New Managed Hosting Program Couples Continuous Availability With Ten End-User Recovery Seats
Business Wire, June 15, 2005
WAYNE, Pa. -- Continuing to expand its suite of Information Availability services, SunGard Availability Services, an operating group of SunGard (NYSE:SDS), today announced its Information Availability for Small and Midsize Business program. The program - the first of its type in the industry - enables customers to obtain managed hosting services combined with ten end-user recovery seats to help quickly rebuild and recover their business at time of disruption.
The program helps customers to achieve one of the industry's highest levels of information availability for day-to-day operations, coupled with an industry-leading disaster recovery component. It provides a complete availability solution and is designed especially for the needs of midsize organizations.
With the Information Availability for Small and Midsize Business program, customers can manage their applications while they are hosted at one of SunGard Availability Services' redundant data centers. In the event a disruption prevents use of a customer's primary data center location, the servers and applications running in SunGard Availability Services data centers allow customers access to their critical business information. Customers can use the end-user recovery seats component to access the applications and information hosted with SunGard Availability Services and continue with business as usual.
"Besides the business and cost benefits gained through continuous information and systems availability, customers receive an additional $5,000 value per year, through the ten end-user recovery seats included in this program," said David Palermo, vice president marketing, SunGard Availability Services. "SunGard Availability Services is the first and only organization to offer such a comprehensive, cost-efficient offering."
The Information Availability for Small and Midsize Business program is offered for a limited time until September 30, 2005. While the program is well-suited for organizations of all sizes, it is ideal for midsize companies with annual revenues between $10 million and $500 million.
SunGard Availability Services' end-user recovery seats provide the physical space and related technological components for customers' employees to function in the event of a disruption. End-user recovery alternative workspace amenities include: desks, chairs, restroom, and conference rooms. Also available at the workspace are desktop PCs, Intel-based server technology, telephony, local and wide-area networking, and peripherals including printers, copiers and fax machines for an additional charge.
SunGard Availability Services currently delivers end-user recovery from over 60 facilities globally. With over 20,000 end-user recovery positions world-wide, SunGard Availability Services is widely acknowledged as an industry leader.
