HUB Distributing Selects Retek Merchandising, In-Store and Business Intelligence Solutions for Its Fashion Retail Chains
Business Wire, June 2, 2005
MINNEAPOLIS -- Retek Inc. announced today that HUB Distributing, parent company to fashion retailers Anchor Blue and Levi's by MOST outlet stores, in January purchased Retek merchandising, in-store and business intelligence software solutions to run in its 240 stores across all of its retail chains. HUB selected Retek solutions to move from its current mainframe legacy systems to an enterprise platform that will better support growth and reduce the total cost of ownership.
"The Retek solutions allow us to integrate our systems and business processes across our retail chains, regions and individual stores so we have greater visibility into inventory throughout our supply chain," said Richard Space, SVP of Sourcing and Logistics at HUB Distributing. "This will help us better address local market needs with ideal assortments and in-stock positions." Lyle Perrigo, VP of Information Technology, is enthusiastic about implementing the suite of Retek applications because, "It provides Hub with an integrated, flexible, expandable, highly functional solution through which we can enable today's industry best practices."
HUB Distributing has selected the following Retek solutions:
--Retek-In-a-Box(TM) - a proven, pre-packaged and fully integrated retail solution that delivers a low total-cost-of-ownership to mid-market retailers. It includes Retek merchandising, allocation, business intelligence and financial management solutions. Retek-In-a-Box will provide HUB with the integrated back office systems and core foundation that is necessary to support its growing number of stores.
--Retek Store Inventory Management(TM) - supports store-level activities such as item look-up, store counts and transfers, improving the accuracy of inventory information, in-store efficiency and sell-through. HUB will use Retek Store Inventory Management to connect its individual stores with its corporate office, and deliver instantaneous, real-time data communications that will manage inventory levels and reduce overage.
--Retek Data Warehouse(TM) - a web-based strategic performance analysis solution with a powerful analytic engine that is focused on retail-specific key performance indicators. HUB will use the Retek Data Warehouse to meld massive amounts of inventory and transaction data from different systems into user-friendly reporting that will provide HUB with a single version of accurate and consistent information.
--Retek Allocation(TM) - helps retailers determine the inventory requirements at the item and location level. By using real-time inventory information, the system calculates need based on parameters the retailer sets - whether its characteristics of the product, category or store. HUB will use Retek Allocation to tailor its inventory to each of its stores' unique needs.
"Retek is excited to have HUB as a customer," said Vince Beacom, Vice President of Merchandise Operations Management for Retek. "We look forward to helping HUB rapidly deploy an integrated set of software solutions, as well as supporting its growth as the company profitably differentiates its brands in the marketplace."
