Fairchild Semiconductor Technologist to Chair ``Power Supplies & Consumer Applications'' Session at IEEE Power Electronics Specialist Conference 2005
Business Wire, June 2, 2005
SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine -- Fairchild Semiconductor (NYSE:FCS) technologist Alan Elbanhawy will chair the "Power Supplies and Consumer Applications" session at the IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference (PESC) held June 16th-17th in Recife, Brazil. The session, scheduled for Thursday, June 16th (1:45 - 4:25 p.m.), will feature eight speakers addressing power supply technologies and solutions.
Elbanhawy will also present the paper, "Current Sharing in Multi-Converters Using Temperature Equalization," scheduled for Tuesday, June 14th (11:20 - 11:45 a.m.). This paper offers a novel approach for guaranteeing load current sharing that at the same time assures equalization of case temperature of the switching MOSFETs. Alan outlines how multi-phase converters offer excellent transient response and efficiency performance advantages in designs such as the core converter for personal computers.
Elbanhawy is director, Computing and Telecommunication Segments, Advanced Power Systems Center at Fairchild Semiconductor. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and has over thirty-five years of experience in power supply design and R&D management. He holds four patents and has applications pending for an additional seven. Conferences where he has presented papers include PESC, PEDS, Intel Technology Symposium, PCIM, PPDC, IPEC, IPEMC, IIC and Power Systems World. His papers have appeared in five languages in international technical publications.
