SoftTree Technologies releases DB Mail v2.5 for Oracle, IBM DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, Sybase ASE and Sybase ASA databases
Business Wire, June 2, 2005
NEW YORK -- SoftTree Technologies is now shipping version 2.5 of the DB Mail. A proven component for high-performance e-business infrastructures, DB Mail automates common e-business functions and provides a Unified Messaging platform for sending email, voice, fax, network and SMS messages. It enables sending messages directly from all major database systems as well as from external applications capable of connecting to supported database systems. DB Mail 2.5 is now available for Oracle, IBM DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, Sybase ASE and Sybase ASA.
The new DB Mail version advances on the messaging and collaboration needs for businesses of all sizes, from small organizations to large distributed enterprises. It gives customers even greater opportunities to integrate and to adopt Unified Messaging technologies. An important enhancement of DB Mail 2.5 is support for fully automated voice messaging and high-performance faxing.
DB Mail uses only standard database communication network protocols, which enable it to provide messaging functions for any Oracle, DB2, Sybase and Microsoft SQL Server database systems running on any platform. DB Mail is fully compatibility with all host Operation Systems on which the supported database systems can run, including but not limited to Windows NT/2000/XP/2003, UNIX, Linux, VMS, OS400, OS/390, z/OS. Single DB Mail server can be used with multiple database systems simultaneously.
DB Mail supports robust asynchronous message processing features ensuring high database and application throughput, freeing database applications from the need to wait for relatively slow fax and voice message transmissions. It enables database applications to write messages to an asynchronous message queue and be immediately freed to serve other requests. Applications that use asynchronous operations, where more than a single operation can execute simultaneously, have better availability, scalability, and usability than applications using only synchronous operations, where operations always execute sequentially.
DB Mail is a true out-of-the box messaging solution utilizing only low-cost commodity hardware and software components readily availably in business of all sizes. With this new version of DB Mail, SoftTree Technologies commits to reducing the total cost of building effective e-businesses, enabling companies to leverage the use of technology to gain an advantage in the marketplace. With this solution, businesses can expand their customer base, provide faster, more efficient services, and develop more personalized services. In addition, the overhead associated with implementing business processes can be now minimized or reduced by leveraging provided unified messaging technology to streamline interactions with customers, suppliers and business partners.
