NFR Security to Hold Web Seminars to Help Government Agencies Meet FISMA Requirements
Business Wire, June 20, 2005
NFR Security, Inc.
What: The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) released a
mandate requiring Federal agencies to include a detailed
report on the strength of their privacy programs in their
annual Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA)
reports. FISMA was created as Title III to the
E-Government Act and requires federal agencies to develop,
document and implement an agency-wide information security
program. The OMB mandate requires that Executive Branch
agencies plan for security, ensure that appropriate
officials are assigned security responsibility,
periodically review the security controls in their
information systems and authorize the systems processing
prior to operations.
NFR Security, the leader in Real-Time Threat
Protection(TM), and CSCI, a highly specialized systems
integration and services firm, are sponsoring the first in
a series of FISMA Web Seminars designed to help government
agencies better understand how their organizations can
become FISMA compliant. Mark Williamson, Chief Technology
Officer (CTO) and co-founder of Conquest Security, will
speak on how agencies can better use the resources and
standards available to meet FISMA requirements and obtain
a higher compliancy grading.
