Conexant Announces New Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales; Christian Scherp Joins Company, Reporting to EVP and COO Lewis Brewster

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. -- Conexant Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CNXT), a worldwide leader in semiconductor solutions for broadband communications, enterprise networks and the digital home, today announced that Christian Scherp, 40, has joined the company as senior vice president of Worldwide Sales. Scherp will report to Lewis Brewster, executive vice president and chief operating officer, who also served as acting senior vice president of Worldwide Sales.

Prior to joining Conexant, Scherp was vice president and general manager of wireless/wireline Communications Group for Infineon Technologies North America. Previously at Infineon, he served as vice president of wireline Communications products marketing, and vice president and general manager of the Communications group's wide area networking business. Before the spin-off and creation of Infineon, Scherp held positions of increasing responsibility with Siemens AG in engineering, marketing, and business planning.
