Professional Consultants Insurance Company Enters Agreement with Antitrust Division of DOJ

Business Wire, June 25, 2005

MONTPELIER, Vt. -- Professional Consultants Insurance Company, Inc. ("PCIC"), a Vermont-based captive insurance company, announced today that it entered into a settlement agreement with the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice ("DOJ") in order to resolve a civil antitrust investigation. The settlement does not constitute an admission of any issue of fact or law by PCIC or its owners. PCIC's attorney, Sean F. Boland of Howrey LLP, stated "We elected to settle this matter in order to put a costly and distracting investigation behind us. The settlement is not an admission that PCIC's conduct violated the antitrust laws and PCIC strongly believes that it did not do so." Under the terms of the settlement PCIC is required to take steps to prevent exchanges of certain types of information. The DOJ settlement does not restrict PCIC's ability to provide insurance.
