DataFlux Receives 'Positive' Rating in Leading Analyst Firm's Data Quality MarketScope Report
Business Wire, June 27, 2005
CARY, N.C. -- DataFlux, a leading provider of data quality integration solutions, today announced that it has received a "Positive" rating in the MarketScope report on data quality vendors, recently published by Gartner, Inc.(1) DataFlux was among eight technology vendors rated in the data quality market, which encompasses capabilities such as data parsing, standardization, cleansing/scrubbing, matching, de-duplication, geocoding, verification/validation, profiling/monitoring/auditing and enrichment.
"DataFlux is working with companies worldwide to transform data quality - which was once a tactical, departmental solution - into a guiding principle that allows organizations to deliver a single, unified view of their enterprise," said Tony Fisher, president and general manager of DataFlux. "We are pleased that DataFlux has received a 'Positive' rating in this analysis, as we believe it reflects our company's growing momentum in the data quality and data integration marketplaces."
According to the report authored by Ted Friedman and Andreas Bitterer, "Awareness of data quality as an important business issue continues to increase as companies recognize the significant impact of incomplete and inaccurate data." The research also states, "... the data quality technology market continues to enjoy solid growth (12 percent to 15 percent annually) because more companies are looking for off-the-shelf tools to analyze and improve the quality of their data."
A "Positive" rating in the MarketScope rating framework is defined as demonstrating strength in specific areas, but is largely opportunistic. The rating advises customers to continue incremental investments and suggests that potential customers should consider putting the vendor on a short list of tactical alternatives.
The MarketScope report analyzes vendors in the data quality market against the Gartner MarketScope rating framework. The report assesses the following evaluation criteria: viability and market commitment; vision and innovation; functional breadth and depth; architecture (including service-oriented architecture capabilities); usability and affordability; alliances and independent software vendor support; references; sales and marketing momentum; and international capabilities.
