Apple Computer (NASDAQ:AAPL) announced it will start using Intel chips. It's no secret that Apple's been looking for greater performance across its line as well as energy efficiency. Intel, known for its fast, energy-efficient chips, may be a big help there. And, it's also no big surprise that Intel has boosted its second quarter revenue forecast, upping its expected sales to between $9.1 billion and $9.3 billion for the period ending July 2, up from between $8.6 billion to $9.2 billion.
American Eagle Outfitters (NASDAQ:AEOS) is following a recent advertising trend of focusing on product placement. AEOS will be the exclusive apparel sponsor of the Austin edition of the popular MTV reality programming "The Real World." Targeted to much the same demographic, the MTV placement will give American Eagle Outfitters exceptional exposure. In other news, the company recently raised its annual dividend rate by 50% to 30 cents per share.
