Carly Fiorina to Keynote INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO Fall 2005; Former Chairman and CEO of Hewlett-Packard to Address Leading VoIP Conference in Los Angeles this October
Business Wire, June 29, 2005
NORWALK, Conn. -- Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC(R)), announced today that Carly Fiorina, former Chairman and CEO of HP, has agreed to deliver the keynote address at their INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO Fall 2005, held October 24-27, 2005 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Ms. Fiorina's address, which is open to all registered attendees, will take place Tuesday, October 25th at 9:30am PDT. Registration for the conference is now open at http://www.itexpo.com.
INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO, held since 1999, is the world's best-attended VoIP trade show. More than 6,200 attendees packed the most recent show in Miami this past February. TMC projects total attendance in Los Angeles this October to exceed 7,500.
After joining HP in July 1999, Carly Fiorina led the reinvention of the company many associate with the birth of Silicon Valley, returning HP to its roots of innovation and inventiveness. Fiorina successfully led HP's controversial merger with Compaq Computer Corp.
Prior to joining HP, Fiorina spent nearly 20 years at AT&T and Lucent Technologies, where she held a number of senior leadership positions and directed Lucent's initial public offering and subsequent spin-off from AT&T.
Ms. Fiorina has previously served on the boards of Cisco Systems, Kellogg Company and Merck & Company.
"Long before her tenure as the leader of HP where she executed one of the largest recent mergers in technology, Carly Fiorina was an influential executive at arguably the most successful telecom company in American history. She knows as well as anyone how to build and market cutting-edge technologies. She will undoubtedly reveal insights from her unique point of view that will change the way INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO attendees look at the VoIP market," said Rich Tehrani, TMC President and Conference Chairman for INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO.
Tehrani continued, "We couldn't think of a better keynoter for the world's leading VoIP conference than someone who was in a senior management role at one of the world's top computer and telecom companies and also was on the board of the world's leading networking company.
"We are proud to give our attendees this rare opportunity to hear Ms. Fiorina talk about how VoIP and other technologies will change the way people work and communicate for the next century," added Tehrani.
Registration for the conference and trade show is now open. Anyone interested may register by visiting http://www.itexpo.com. Vendors interested in exhibiting or sponsorship opportunities at the show should contact Dave Rodriguez right away at 1-203-852-6800, ext. 146. Or send e-mail to: drodriguez@tmcnet.com.
