ADC Expands FTTX Outside Plant Services; Enhanced Professional Services Offering Covers Central Office, Outside Plant FTTX Deployment
Business Wire, June 6, 2005
MINNEAPOLIS -- ADC (NASDAQ:ADCTD; www.adc.com) announced today the expansion of its Professional Services fiber-to-the-X (FTTX) deployment capabilities. The company's Professional Services Business Unit now offers a comprehensive set of services for central office (CO) and outside-plant (OSP) FTTX deployments, enabling carriers to speed deployment, lower deployment costs, obtain consistent quality from site to site, and improve time to market and revenues for new broadband services.
"Competition and increasing demand for video and high-speed digital services are driving FTTX deployments. This requires a substantial investment in upgrading both CO and OSP facilities to delivery these services," said Jo Anne Anderson, president of the Professional Services Business Unit for ADC. "Our expanded OSP services include project management, preconfigured cabinet solutions, site prep services, full engineering, furnishing and installation, and commissioning and integration. It's a complete suite of services designed to ensure OSP deployment success in any FTTX network."
ADC's Professional Services group offers multivendor integration for pad and pole mount cabinets, active and passive equipment, primary and backup power, and thermal management. The company's team of integrators delivers proven design and installation expertise and provides the quality controls telecommunication networks require for FTTX services delivery.
In addition to outside-plant services, ADC offers carriers its FTTX Service Pack for the CO, launched in 2004. This bundle of professional services helps carriers determine whether their COs and OSP are FTTX ready, and if not what changes need to occur to meet the higher capacity demands that FTTX deployments create.
ADC provides a broad range of integration services to help operators increase the capacity of their networks, more effectively manage their assets and maximize their network infrastructure. More information on ADC's services capabilities can be found at www.adc.com/professionalservices.
