Citrix Launches State and Local Government Expert Program for Channel Partners; Initiative Simplifies Sales Cycle for Channel Partners, Reduces Acquisition Costs for Government Customers

Business Wire, June 6, 2005

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:CTXS), the global leader in access infrastructure, today introduced the Citrix State and Local Government Expert Program for Citrix(R) Solution Advisors - Citrix partners who deliver innovative and strategic enterprise access infrastructure solutions. Providing valuable market, technology and sales resources, the new program will enable Citrix Solution Advisors to significantly improve the level of service being provided to government customers throughout the United States.

Over the last few years, state and local government agencies have increasingly harnessed the Citrix Access Platform to solve their organizational challenges, which include reducing the costs of Information Technology (IT) through IT resource consolidation and improving cyber security and workforce mobility. Recognizing that delivering strong value to government agencies requires close collaboration among vendors, solutions providers and government officials, Citrix structured the new program to reward Citrix Solution Advisors who have made a significant commitment to this market and its unique customers. Citrix Solution Advisors form the core of the Citrix accessPARTNER Network, the global network of Citrix partners.

To improve the customer acquisition process for both agencies and partners, the Citrix State and Local Government Expert Program will allow Citrix Solution Advisors to sell Citrix products and services off of existing Citrix state contracts - eliminating the need to negotiate additional contract vehicles. Further, through the General Services Administration (GSA) Cooperative Purchasing Program, participating Citrix Solution Advisors can offer their eligible customers the ability to purchase off of a Citrix GSA Schedule.

"Having state term contracts at our disposal is an incredible benefit to us and our customers," said Don Wilemon, chief executive officer of Capital Network Solutions, Inc. "Leveraging pre-approved contract vehicles, the Citrix State and Local Government Expert Program enables us to provide our customers with access to the technology solutions that meet their needs with minimal turnaround time - and at minimal taxpayer expense. Our membership in this special program also lets state and local government entities know that Citrix acknowledges our expertise in managing the unique challenges of selling to state and local governments."

Other benefits of participating in the Citrix State and Local Government Expert Program include:

--Access to Citrix state and local government market analyses, identifying spending trends, government funding data and Federal grant award information

--Prioritized access to leads generated by Citrix state and local government marketing and advertising campaigns

--Access to Citrix state and local government collateral, including white papers, success stories, factual representations and solution briefs

--Training and relevant information on state and local priorities, processes and issues

--Access to Citrix government sales professionals for assistance with sales and marketing efforts

"The Citrix State and Local Government Expert Program provides us with a wealth of budget data and sales leads that we would otherwise have to expend company resources to obtain," said Mark Westling, vice president and chief technical officer of Right Systems, Inc. "The program will help us to reach, interact with and support our customer base more efficiently."

In order to participate in the Citrix State and Local Government Expert Program, existing Citrix Solution Advisors must demonstrate a visible commitment to the state and local market, and maintain an office in each state in which the partner is an authorized Citrix Solution Advisor.

Some of the criteria for being authorized include:

--Maintaining physical representation in the state capital or other major metropolitan area within each designated state government territory

--Participating in at least one state and local government sector IT trade show

--Conducting quarterly state and local government seminars promoting the value of the Citrix Access Platform for state and local government agencies

"The Citrix State and Local Government Expert Program gives our valued state and local government partners the tools they need to deliver the highest quality solutions to their customers without negotiating contracts for every new sale," said Bert Wakeley, director of State and Local Government for Citrix. "A win-win for partners and customers alike, this Expert Program takes the focus off of purchasing the technology and puts it on applying and implementing the technology to drive agency success."
