Calix Chief Executive and Marketing Executives Speak at SUPERCOMM 2005; Company CEO Carl Russo Will Be a Featured Keynote Speaker at the USTA Luncheon

> CHICAGO -- Calix today announced that Carl Russo, chief executive of Calix; Frank Wiener, vice president of field marketing for Calix; and Geoff Burke, video solutions marketing director for Calix, will speak at three separate events associated with SUPERCOMM 2005. Calix is a leading supplier of telecommunications solutions that help local exchange carriers of all sizes simplify the delivery of voice, data, and video services to business and residential subscribers.
Carl Russo Russo will be a keynote speaker at the United States
Telecom Association (USTA) Telecom Leadership Conference
Luncheon on June 7 at 12:00 p.m. CST at the Hyatt Regency
McCormick Place in Chicago. Russo is on the USTA Board of
Directors. USTA represents more than 1,200 telecom service
providers of all sizes and has been at the forefront of
positive change within the telecom industry for over a
century. The USTA Board of Directors, which is made up of
key industry executives from service providers and
equipment suppliers, is responsible for setting the agenda
for the USTA's legal, regulatory, and business development
strategy on an annual basis.
What Russo will present his vision of the "Communications
Service Providers: Where's the Value-Add?" Russo will
speak to the importance of a rigorous focus on broad,
multi-faceted service delivery as one of the few viable
strategies for communications service providers. This
strategy applies irrespective of evolving regulatory
developments and marshals rapidly developing technology

Wiener Wiener will participate in Telephony's Voice over Internet
Protocol (VOIP) Conference on June 6 at 1:30 p.m. CST at
the Westin Michigan Avenue in Chicago, Illinois.
What The track two session titled "Services Strategy & Profits:
VOIP and the Triple Play" will discuss how the transition
to VOIP will affect service providers' efforts to add
voice into their triple-play offerings. The session will
also explore the strategic role of IP voice in the bundled
offering and the transitional challenges of moving
residential voice services to the VOIP model.
The panel will be moderated by Vince Vittore, executive
editor of Telephony & Wireless Review, and will include
panelists from Alltel, D&E Communications, and The Eastern
Management Group.

Burke Burke will participate in the USTA IP Video Conference on
June 6 at 12:30 p.m. CST at McCormick Place in Chicago,
Illinois. Burke has written Chapter 2, titled "Video
Service Opportunities," of USTA's reference guide on IP
Video Implementation and Planning. The guide will launch
at SUPERCOMM and will be available through the USTA
bookstore.
What The panel titled "Services -- Is the Future Now?" will
discuss the rapid growth and rollout of services such as
High Definition Television (HDTV), Video-On-Demand (VoD),
and portable digital video recorders. The panel will also
examine the impact of external factors, such as the Plug
and Play agreement, as they relate to customers embracing
these new services.
Along with Burke of Calix, the panel will also include
speakers from The Walt Disney Company, SBC, Wave7 Optics,
and Scientific-Atlanta.
