Business Wire, June 8, 2005
BELLEVUE, Wash. -- InfoSpace, Inc. (NASDAQ: INSP) today announced the release of its high speed racing game "BMW WilliamsF1 Team Racing Challenge". Mobile subscribers can now experience the sensation of Formula One racing as never before. With outstanding action graphics, pit stops and ever changing driving conditions, BMW WilliamsF1 Team Racing Challenge delivers high octane excitement to gamers wherever they are and whenever they feel the need for speed.
"We are excited to bring the first BMW WilliamsF1 Team title to mobile users everywhere," said Steve Elfman, VP Mobile Operations at InfoSpace. "Through this particular title, InfoSpace's Elkware Studio has successfully introduced some of the most innovative, realistic and technical features in mobile gaming. Through BMW WilliamsF1 Team Racing Challenge, we are able to introduce a team challenge that takes the competition to the next level."
Developed by InfoSpace in conjunction with engineers from the team, BMW WilliamsF1 Team Racing Challenge puts gamers behind the wheel of a Williams BMW FW27 in a race against five opponents. The game includes three different "Cup" races each with four tracks to choose from. Gamers can outperform their opponents in four challenging play modes and race against a ghost car in "time attack" mode.
"The games from InfoSpace show that it is possible to bring the excitement of racing onto mobile phones. We are looking forward to the partnership between our organizations. For us, this is a novel and groundbreaking project," said Ralf Hussmann, Head of Sport Marketing at BMW AG.
A major achievement of BMW WilliamsF1 Team Racing Challenge is its arcade-style top-down view which allows mobile gamers intuitive ease in controlling and steering their racecar. As the latest BMW title in the extensive InfoSpace games catalogue, BMW WilliamsF1 Team Racing Challenge will be available to all major carriers worldwide and will be supported for selected handsets from all of the major mobile phone manufacturers.
