Intel Names Interpublic Group of Companies as Global Brand Marketing Agency

Business Wire, March 10, 2005

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Intel Corporation has selected Interpublic Group of Companies as its new global brand marketing agency of record. Effective immediately, the agency network led by McCann Worldgroup will help drive Intel's worldwide marketing communications strategy. That includes all global brand and advertising development and execution, media planning and buying, and Internet marketing.

Intel and McCann Worldgroup will work together to align marketing programs around the company's strategy to drive development of complete technology platforms -- processors, chipsets, wireless communications capability, software and other technologies -- that provide innovative and exciting new technologies for the marketplace.

"The Intel brand must consistently evolve in order to address new market opportunities," said Eric Kim, vice president and co-director of Intel's Sales and Marketing Group. "As Intel increases its focus on delivering technology in a way that benefits people in their daily lives through our approach to platforms, the new global agency will play a strategic role in helping to communicate the essence of the Intel brand and the company's technology benefits in a compelling way."

The Interpublic Group of Companies was awarded the account after a formal review process which began in September. The agency was selected for its strengths in marketing, brand development, creative strategy and execution, and global reach.

McCann Worldgroup will oversee the global management of the account. McCann Erickson, New York will serve as lead creative agency on the account, and Universal McCann will oversee media planning and buying. In addition, MRM Partners and R/GA will provide additional communications support, including Internet marketing.

Intel, the world's largest chip maker, is also a leading manufacturer of computer, networking and communications products. Additional information about Intel is available at www.intel.com/pressroom.> Intel is a trademark or registered trademark of Intel Corporation or its subsidiaries in the United States and other countries.
