Neterion Xframe Adapters Support Solaris 10; Neterion's 10 Gigabit Ethernet Products Achieve Solaris Ready Certification

Business Wire, March 14, 2005

CUPERTINO, Calif. -- Neterion, Inc. (formerly S2io, Inc.), an industry pioneer in the emerging 10 Gigabit Ethernet adapter market, announced that its Xframe(R) family of products will support the Solaris(TM) 10 Operating System (OS) for SPARC(R), x86 and x64 architectures. Additionally, its Xframe product line has achieved Solaris Ready Certification. Achieving the Solaris Ready status allows Neterion to display the programs logo on its Xframe products. The logo indicates to customers that Neterion's 10 Gigabit Ethernet Adapters have complete in-depth interoperability, compatibility and functionality testing on SPARC, x86 and x64 platforms running Solaris.

"The 'Solaris Ready Program' ensures that our products have met some of the most stringent testing requirements in the industry for system compatibility, interoperability, ease-of-installation and functionality as defined by Sun," said Dave Zabrowski, President and CEO of Neterion. "We look forward to providing 10 Gigabit Ethernet capabilities to help meet the high performance demands of our customers."

"Solaris Ready partners, such as Neterion, provide reassurance and investment protection to their customers," noted Juan Carlos Soto, Software CTO and senior director, market development engineering, Sun Microsystems Inc. "Neterion's support for Solaris 10 and the work they have accomplished certifying and qualifying its Xframe family of products give customers a wide range of high performance networking choices for the industry's gold standard operating system for Sparc, x86, and x64 systems. Neterion will continue to be an important partner as our joint customers deploy 10 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity within enterprise data centers."

In addition, Neterion will be working with Sun to deliver an iWARP-enabled offload engine with RDMA functionality to enhance performance and scalability in intense server/storage environments. Further announcements regarding this agreement will be made during the course of 2005.
