NetManage Teams with TriAWorks to Enable Single Sign-On for iSeries Users
Business Wire, March 14, 2005
CUPERTINO, Calif. -- Single Sign-On (SSO) Offers Increased Security, Simplified Administration and Reduced Support Costs for RUMBA and OnWeb Users
NetManage, Inc. (Nasdaq:NETM), a software company that provides solutions for integrating, Web enabling and accessing enterprise information systems, today announced a marketing partnership with TriAWorks, Inc., an identity management solutions and services provider, to enable password-eliminating Single Sign-On that leverages Kerberos-based authentication for RUMBA and OnWeb users for applications on the IBM iSeries platform.
"As security remains a top priority for the enterprise, managing user access to back-end servers without compromising network security is more important than ever before," said Jack McAfee, president, TriAWorks, Inc. "TriAWorks solutions, which work with standard Microsoft/IBM infrastructures including Kerberos and Enterprise Identity Mapping (EIM), allow NetManage's enterprise customers to eliminate the need for multiple passwords to access different iSeries, while still maintaining a high-level of security and simplifying the end-user experience."
TriAWorks promotes password-eliminating SSO solutions that leverage existing security technologies, such as Kerberos for authentication and Enterprise Identity Mapping (EIM) for authorization, so IT administrators do not have to deploy and manage a new application infrastructure, which is the case with traditional password synchronization solutions. Through this partnership with TriAWorks, NetManage customers using the IBM iSeries platform can activate SSO using RUMBA or OnWeb Web-to-Host. The benefits of password elimination SSO solutions include improved enterprise security; incremental deployment; fewer passwords to manage, which simplifies regulatory compliance; and less help desk calls to reset passwords.
"NetManage aims to address the problems many of our customers have expressed when dealing with the management of multiple passwords for all of their users," said Zvi Alon, president, chairman and CEO, NetManage, Inc. "Combining TriAWorks' tools and services with the Microsoft/IBM Kerberos infrastructure, provides NetManage's RUMBA and OnWeb customers with the clear benefit of standardized single sign-on."
