Calian Changes Name to 'Calian Technologies Ltd.'

KANATA, Ontario -- Calian Technology Ltd. (TSX:CTY) announced today that the company's name has been changed to "Calian Technologies Ltd." with immediate effect. This name change was approved by Calian's shareholders at the annual and special meeting of shareholders held on February 2, 2005. Despite this name change, there will be no change to Calian's trading symbol on the Toronto Stock Exchange, which will remain "CTY".
"The new name more accurately represents who we are as a company," explained Ray Basler, Calian's President and Chief Executive Officer. "We have undertaken this minor name change to more accurately reflect our business, which is made up of the Systems Engineering and the Business and Technology Services Divisions. Each of these Divisions provides services with respect to a number of technologies in the satellite communications and information technologies areas."
