The Swedish National Police Board operates a single data network between its 480 sites throughout Sweden, enabling every police station and administrative center to exchange information on all aspects of police business and to access data held on the national police information database. The network also has links to international police authority networks and overseas embassies.
"The data traversing our network is highly sensitive, and needs to be delivered quickly and reliably. Although the network is private and not connected to the public Internet, we wanted the reassurance of an added layer of security that would preserve high-speed data throughput," said Nicholas Genetay, communications director of the Swedish National Police Board. "The VPN solution from Juniper Networks provides easy-to-manage, fast and highly secure tunnels of encrypted data between sites, which ensures the integrity and availability of our data at all times."
"A national police organization cannot take any risks with its data or the performance of its network," said Eddie Minshull, vice president of operations in EMEA for Juniper Networks. "This contract is an excellent example of Juniper Networks delivering a highly reliable, secure and assured network to support sensitive and mission-critical applications."
