Business Wire, March 17, 2005
INDIANAPOLIS -- Gannett Co., Inc., a diversified news and information company operating the largest group of newspapers in the U.S. by circulation, has selected ExactTarget's on-demand email software.
Gannett will use ExactTarget's Enterprise Solution to deliver news, communicate with subscribers and help advertisers reach the right customers through email. ExactTarget Enterprise Solution will enable Gannett brands, including its community newspapers, television stations and USA TODAY, to send timely, relevant information to customers who sign up to receive information, and will ensure subscriber loyalty and compliance with federal CAN-SPAM laws.
ExactTarget was chosen for its ease of use and ability to pass data back and forth between existing applications, such as content management systems, web analytics and other back office systems.
"It's important to Gannett to be able to communicate with potentially millions of customers by email, whether they are interested in news, local sales and deals or the status of their newspaper subscription. We selected ExactTarget's software and service organization because we thought it was the best fit for our diverse businesses," said Peter Lundquist, director of online content with the Newspaper Division. "ExactTarget will help us make sure we can manage our email lists and subscriber preferences, track email delivery and help us maintain good relationships with Internet Service Providers."
ExactTarget Enterprise Solution features a Dynamic One-to-One/On Your Behalf model ideal for enterprises with distributed channels that are challenged to offer consistent brand messages, while also leveraging local relationships. ExactTarget's Lock-and-Publish model enables a corporate marketing organization to manage the creative elements of emails and allow business units to personalize select elements. The Enterprise Solution provides tools to manage subscriber profiles and preferences, including data consolidation and maintaining multiple suppression lists, and ensures that the organization is compliant with Federal regulations across the entire email spectrum.
"ExactTarget has spent years developing the most robust enterprise application in the email marketing industry" said Scott Dorsey, president of ExactTarget. "This innovation and hard work is being rewarded with the confidence and commitment of sophisticated customers such as Gannett."
