iRobot Appoints Two Former Senior Ranking Military Personnel; Expands Government & Industrial Robotics Division

BURLINGTON, Mass. -- iRobot Corp. today announced the appointments of former U.S. Army Col. Daniel Sulka and Marine Corps Col. Thomas White to management positions within its Government & Industrial Robotics division. Sulka, who formerly planned and managed Department of Defense logistics operations, as well as NATO logistics in the former Yugoslavia, will manage operations for iRobot's logistics group. White, previously the Naval Air Systems Command's AV-8B Harrier program manager, will manage people, processes and infrastructure associated with iRobot's military systems program management competency. Both will report to Joseph Dyer (Ret. U.S. Navy Vice Admiral), executive vice president and general manager of iRobot's Government & Industrial Robotics division. Sulka and White join iRobot at a time when the Company is actively growing this division through multiple projects, including a contract with the U.S. Army's Future Combat Systems program to develop a next-generation small unmanned ground vehicle.

Prior to joining iRobot, Sulka served for 26 years in the U.S. Army, completing service as a colonel and division director in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. He served in a variety of domestic and international senior management positions including logistics command and operational planning. He also served at the Pentagon on the Department of the Army Staff and with NATO, where he planned and coordinated the execution of NATO logistics and political operations for the initial phase of Operation Joint Endeavor, the implementation of the Dayton Peace Accords in the former Yugoslavia. In his new role as director of logistics within the Government & Industrial Robotics division, Sulka will spearhead advances that make products increasingly easy to support and maintain.

White joins iRobot with extensive experience in defense systems acquisition and development. He previously worked as director of the Weapons and Plans division with the Navy International Programs Office. Previously, he was assigned to the Naval Air Systems Command, where he served as the program manager for the AV-8B Harrier aircraft. During his tenure as program manager, the AV-8B achieved its lowest accident rate ever, with significant increases in readiness and war fighting capabilities to excel in combat commitments including Operation Enduring Freedom. At iRobot, he will help develop the tools and processes needed to effectively manage the Company's growing role as a government contractor.
