El Nuevo Dia Selects Imprivata OneSign for Enterprise Single Sign-on; Largest Newspaper in Puerto Rico chooses Imprivata's Solution for Increased Password Security and Ease of Use
Business Wire, March 21, 2005
LEXINGTON, Mass. -- Imprivata, Inc., the enterprise single sign-on (ESSO) appliance company, today announced that El Nuevo Dia, the largest daily newspaper in Puerto Rico, has recently selected Imprivata OneSign as its enterprise single sign-on (ESSO) solution. After a rigorous evaluation process, El Nuevo Dia chose Imprivata OneSign, the industry's only ESSO appliance, over three other ESSO solutions for its breakthrough technology and ease of use. OneSign will provide the newspaper publishing company with the ability to quickly, affordably and securely SSO-enable applications for 1,000 users, allowing the publisher to achieve a clear and straightforward password policy, reduce IT helpdesk costs and meet internal security policy requirements.
"Today's publishers are under increasing pressure to cut costs and streamline budgets due to the proliferation of competing media channels," said Ive Edgardo Velez at El Nuevo Dia. "Finding ways to reduce costs is essential, and Imprivata OneSign does just that. Imprivata's out-of-the-box solution provides El Nuevo Dia with an affordable way to deliver secure and rapid access to all of our applications - a must for any company that wants to stay competitive in today's business climate."
OneSign's hardware-based, automated approach grants it the flexibility, monitoring ability and manageability to address all of El Nuevo Dia's requirements. Built-in monitoring furnishes a record of who accessed which applications when, providing an easy-to-use reporting log that can be used to strengthen security and enforce compliance across all applications. Furthermore, by providing a common log-in across applications, OneSign eliminates the need to remember multiple passwords, leading to a decreased number of business interruptions as well as increased employee productivity.
A key feature of OneSign that made the solution a logical choice for the newspaper's IT department is its self-learning Application Profile Generator(TM) technology, which supports all enterprise applications - whether they are legacy, client-server, Java or Web-based - without requiring any modifications to existing code. In addition, Imprivata's ESSO solution offers the publisher built-in support for strong authentication methods such as password, ID tokens, smart cards and finger biometrics, which present IT managers with the opportunity to exercise even greater control over their security environment.
"El Nuevo Dia recognizes that forgotten passwords are a critical - and costly - problem, and we are extremely pleased to provide them with an effective solution that is convenient for end users and the IT department alike," said Patrick Morley, president and CEO of Imprivata. "OneSign truly is a strategic security solution for small and medium sized enterprises, and we are happy to be helping leading newspapers like El Nuevo Dia solve core security challenges while minimizing the cost of implementation and maximizing ROI."
Imprivata OneSign will be showcased in the mWave Media booth #2158 at NEXPO - Newspaper Technology Exhibition and Conference, March 19-22 in Dallas, TX.
