Toshiba Delivers Total IP Telephony Solution, from Network Readiness to Installation and Maintenance; Alliances with PEAK Technologies, SMC and SonicWALL for Network Assessment, WLAN/LAN, and Security Products and Services

IRVINE, Calif. -- Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Digital Solutions Division (TAIS DSD) today announced that it is delivering a total IP telephony solution consisting of its new Toshiba Strata(R) CIX(TM) pure IP telephony system plus complete networking, security, and wireless products and services for a one-stop IP telephony solution. All products and services will be delivered via Toshiba's nationwide network of authorized dealers, providing a complete start-to-finish IP communications solution for SMB enterprises and larger corporate users with multiple sites.
Wired and Wireless network assessment, installation, and related services will be provided by PEAK Technologies Inc., an RR Donnelley company (NYSE:RRD) based in Columbia, Md. Wireless and wired networking products and services will be provided by SMC Networks Inc., a leading provider of networking solutions for the SMB/e market based in Irvine, Calif. Network security technologies and services will be provided by SonicWALL, Inc. (NASDAQ:SNWL), a leading provider of integrated security, productivity and mobility solutions based in Sunnyvale, Calif.

Toshiba's Strata CIX Pure IP Telephony System
Designed for SMB enterprises or larger corporate users with multiple sites, the Strata CIX supports up to 192 ports, offers new FeatureFlex(TM) capabilities, can be TDM-enabled, and provides a smooth migration path from Toshiba Strata CTX and Strata DK digital business communication systems. It includes:
--FeatureFlex Adaptability Never Seen Before in an IP Telephony System - Toshiba's FeatureFlex allows users to customize existing features and create their own new features using the TCL scripting language. It lets them create their own Killer Applications from FeatureFlex, the Killer Enabler.

It supports IP wireless and IP desk telephones, analog and digital telephones, IP softphones on notebook and tablet PCs, and standards-based SIP telephones. --Web-based Management - eManager(TM) gives IT managers a Web-based tool to remotely manage the system, and My Phone Manager(TM) lets individual users program their own phones.

PEAK Technologies will provide wireless network assessment, site surveys, installation and services to customers of Toshiba Strata CIX pure IP business communications systems. SMC Networks will deliver a complete product portfolio of wireless and wired network infrastructure, including 802.11 Wireless Access Point and Bridge, several Fast Ethernet switches, a high performance non-blocking PoE switch and a single port PoE Injector. All these products have been selected following extensive testing for integration with Toshiba's Strata CIX IP communications solution. They are also compatible with Toshiba's Strata CTX family of digital business communications systems, which can be IP enabled.
