Interwise Integration Benefits IBM Lotus Notes Users; ECP Notes Connector Drives ''Wall-to-Wall'' Adoption Of Integrated Web, Voice and Video Conferencing in Extended Enterprises by Notes Users
Business Wire, March 28, 2005
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- IBM Lotus Notes users across the world are enjoying a greater degree of collaboration by using ECP(TM) Notes Connector software from Interwise, the leader in true enterprise conferencing. This software add-on allows people to use their familiar Notes Calendaring & Scheduling environment to create and manage invitations to integrated web, video, and voice conferencing and collaborative events powered by Interwise ECP Connect software.
This simplified access and management capability, together with Interwise's unique fixed price/unlimited usage business model, is encouraging companies to put ECP Connect on every desktop within an organization for conferencing and collaboration with colleagues, customers, and partners inside and outside the enterprise. An estimated 25 percent of the worldwide corporate messaging marketplace uses IBM Lotus software.(1)
ECP Connect is an Internet Protocol (IP)-based, enterprise conferencing solution that delivers unlimited web, voice and video conferencing to the extended enterprise for a fixed price. This integrated application includes functionality for six ways of communicating: voice conferencing, web meetings, virtual classes, web seminars, webcasts, and on-demand recordings. The ECP Notes Connector gives people the ability to invite both Notes and non-Notes users to an event, to update an event, and to respond to incoming event invitations, as well as to enter "live" events by clicking on URL hyperlinks embedded in the Notes Calendar entries for those events. Interwise also provides similar add-on software for the Microsoft Outlook environment.
"We use Notes as our corporate messaging standard," said Jaakko Puurula, a development manager at Metso Corporation (NYSE: MX), a global supplier of process industry machinery, systems and services with 23,000 employees in more than 50 countries. "The ECP Notes Connector lets us seamlessly use ECP Connect software to hold meetings, voice conferences, and training sessions with our employees and customers worldwide. This, in turn, lets us drive revenue growth, increase productivity and dramatically save on voice conferencing costs. With the ECP Notes Connector, Metso is working to put ECP Connect on the desktop of every employee with an e-mail address."
"The ECP Notes Connector enables us to deliver enterprise conferencing as a core communication and collaboration utility to the second-largest installed base of corporate messaging software users," said Interwise CEO Frank Zvi. "Putting conferencing and collaboration functionality on every desktop through integration with customers' familiar calendaring tools and a fixed price/unlimited usage business model is just one more way Interwise is changing the paradigm for this technology."
