Bluestreak Technology and Broadband iTV Enter License Agreement for Creation of Local, Personalized Content Via Bluestreak DEM Presentation Engine

Business Wire, March 29, 2005

HONOLULU & DALLAS -- Bluestreak Network, Inc., developer of Digital Entertainment Middleware (DEM), and Broadband iTV, Inc. (BBiTV), developer of interactive television applications, announced they have entered into a license agreement which will allow BBiTV to develop applications on the DEM platform and introduce these applications in markets where Bluestreak's DEM is deployed.

"BBiTV is a great example of the power of local content in interactive digital cable, with commercially deployed products like classifieds and interactive community channels," said John Reed, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Bluestreak. "We look forward to supporting BBiTV's efforts to expand the personalized interactivity of cable TV using the DEM platform."

"We are pleased to be working on the Bluestreak DEM platform," said Milton Diaz, BBiTV's chief technology officer. "As we reviewed the platforms available to us, Bluestreak was the logical next step for BBiTV. The BDK tool kit leverages standard Macromedia Flash(R) development tools with Bluestreak's specialized video-centric features, providing new flexibility, speed and efficiency with regard to the construction of our iTV applications. Our user interface has improved through the use of the dynamic qualities of Flash(R)," he added. Diaz continued, "Just as important, as a developer of ITV applications, it is vital to BBiTV that our platform provider be supportive of their developers; Bluestreak has a proven record of supporting third party developers and has excellent resources dedicated to its Developer Program."

BBiTV will be demonstrating its Bluestreak-based version of TVClassifieds in the OpenTV Booth (#6174) at the National Cable Television Association (NCTA) National Show in San Francisco, April 3-5. Show attendees will be able to take digital photos and create classified ads using BBiTV's Web platform. Those ads will go live immediately to television and be presented within the TVClassifieds system running at the show.
